This is a great set of official horseshoes for anyone who is interested in the game. These shoes are the only ones still MADE IN THE USA. All the other sets are imported, you can double check, but it's true. The shoes are made of drop-forged steel and are coated with a textured, non-slip grip that allows you to better control your throws. The stakes are solid steel also so they won't break or bend when the shoes hit them. This company (St.Pierre Manufacturing) has been around for a long time and stands behind their product. And their customer service is good too. I lost the rulebook that comes with my shoes and they sent a new one the very next day. The shoes meet the official size and weight requirements of the governing body of professional horseshoe players (the National Horseshoe Pitcher's Association (NHPA)).
